Out the door, back on the hook
Every loan leaves with a manila tag. When it comes back, the borrower writes on the back what the tool did, and we hang the tag on the wire by the door.
Last year 618 households took 3,912 loans off the board. The average member borrowed about $640 worth of tools for a suggested $15.

How a loan goes
It's a library. You take it home, you use it, you bring it back, and the next person gets it sharp.
No fines. If you're late, tell us and we'll stamp a new date. We'd rather have the drill back than the money.
